10. Live Football Game
Let’s face it, as much as I want to go to a Minnesota Viking’s Game is not financially feasible for me or for most families. But football is an American harbinger of fall. I actually enjoy cheering on my University of Minnesota Gophers more than the pro teams. The crowd is smaller and Huntington Bank Stadium still offers the great Minnesota flavors from vendors. It is also an outdoor arena, which wasn’t a thing when I was in school. We cheered our Gophers from the Metrodome, which wasn’t even on campus. I think taking kids to University Campus’ is a great way for them to see what life is like, whether they are young or beginning to think about their future. Of course, that still costs a bit more than taking your family to a good old fashioned Friday Night Lights experience at a local high school and letting them see “the big kids” in action. It’s also a little bit less driving! No matter where, even in your back yard, a football game screams Fall.
